Farming along the banks of Troublesome Creek in Western Iowa…

Schmidt family

Dave, Meg, and Sylvie Schmidt plus Burl and Elbie

We are the Schmidt family and we founded Troublesome Creek Cattle Co. (T3C) in 2012 near Exira, Iowa. Our goals are to enjoy rural life while producing high-quality, wholesome meat in a way that ensures the well-being of our livestock and maximizes the long-term health and productivity of our most basic resources- soil, air, and water. Although they are not included in the farm name we also raise pigs, sheep, and chickens as well as keep honeybees. All T3C products are grown without federal or state subsidies.
